How does pet sitting work?
We make visits to your home to care for, feed, exercise and love your pets. You choose the number of visits you need per day. We will also provide house sitting services at no extra charge. (mail/newspaper collection, trash/recycling bins in-out, plant care)
How do I get started with the Fort Collins Pet Sitting Company's services?
The first step is to schedule a complimentary Meet & Greet appointment.
I'll come to your house to meet you and your pets, get the feeding/care instructions, answer any questions you have, provide references, and give you some forms to fill out. I will also need a copy of your house key.
Who will be visiting my pets?
Your pet will be assigned to either me, Ronnie or my husband Eric. We are the owners of The Fort Collins Pet Sitting Company.
If there is an emergency and neither one of us is unable to make it to a scheduled pet visit, we will arrange for a qualified professional back-up pet sitter to complete the service.
Do you walk dogs for people who are at work?
Yes. My mid-day dog walking service is Monday-Friday between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. See my Services & Rates page.
Are you available 365 days/year?
No. There will be times when we take vacations or have to leave town. We will help make arrangements with another qualified professional pet sitter.
Can I drop my pet off at your home?
No. We visit your pet in the your home.
Do you provide references?
Yes! I'll be happy to provide a list of references from current clients who are very familiar with me and my pet sitting service.
What happens if my pet becomes ill when I'm gone?
In an emergency situation, I will transport your pet to your veterinarian and notify you immediately. In non-emergency situations, I will call you to discuss the situation over the phone. I will also contact you if I notice any changes in your pet's behavior.
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes. The Fort Collins Pet Sitting Company is fully insured and bonded by Business Insurers of the Carolinas for your piece of mind.
How does the "Always Ready" Key Program work?
I prefer to keep a copy of your house key on file in a secure location. This makes it easy and convenient to book future pet sitting dates. If you chose to have your key dropped off after the completion of the pet sitting service, there will be a $5.00 key pick-up charge for future services.
How long do pet visits last?
30 minutes. If you have multiple pets, the visits will be extended up to 45 minutes.
Can you give my pet medications?
Yes. I'll be happy to give drops, pills and ointment for no extra charge.
Can you take our dog to a dog park?
No. For the safety of your dog, he/she will be on a leash during our walks. No off-leash time.
What pets do you have experience with?
Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, fish, birds, horses, turtles, and hamsters.
